The news story from KING 5 reports on the exhibit which featured 37 black garments from the 1860s through the 2010s, drawn from the Historical Society’s collections, From ruffled Victorian gowns through contemporary cocktail shifts, the exhibit could be called from "mourning to night" From women who wore black only in mourning to modern times when women wear black to go out and party.  The exhibit tells how women’s roles changed, so did style, fabric, and function in fashion. The results could either reinforce norms or support countercultural movements
