Title
La Dolce Vita - Anita Ekberg et Marcello Mastroianni in La fontaine de Trevi
Subject
The famous scene in Fellini's La Dolce Vita, in which Sylvia wades into the Trevi Fountain...and Marcello follows
Description
In this iconic scene from La Dolce Vita (Fellini, 1960), the American actress Sylvia Rank, played by Anita Ekberg, wades in the Trevi Fountain in the middle of the night. She beckons reporter Marcello Rubino (Marcello Mastroianni) to join her. As one YouTube commenter writes, "It was freezing cold in the middle of winter. The kitten pissed on her head and Marcello had to have huge amounts of whisky to make this scene as well as heavy underwear, whilst Anita - a daughter of the vikings - walked around in the Fontana with no trouble at all."
